last Sunday (28/2) i went to BSB concert, I had a blast! took loads of videos with my singing/screaming in them... not many good pictures, will just upload afew. they said they'll be back next year, and i so want to go again. was glad i was seated (or shd i say standing since everyone stood up as soon as the concert started) at row 7 cos there was NO projection screen. yes how dumb/ridiculous is that.

i just straightened my hair over the weekend, and i'm missing my permed hair already. i so want to perm it again when it's long.

and i'm still coughing like nuts after 2 weeks, after seeing the doctor twice already. man i'm really getting unhealthy, and my immunity is really getting real sucky.

anyhow, i just decided to click and read my own blogger profile and there is this question i answered the other time.

"When you spilled the milk, did it look like the moon?

My answer: it looks like a pool of spilled milk unless it's so round it's a full moon, so crescent it's a crescent moon. wad if i'm drinkin choc milk? brown moon?"

Happy New Year everyone!

May everyone have a wonderful year ahead!

2009 passed by so quickly it just felt so insignificant. i feel so empty. there's alot going on in my mind, but i've never been good/comfortable in expressing my thoughts, though i'll try my best to pen them down for my future read.

with just a blink of an eye, i've been working for 1.5 years already. i've learnt loads of stuffs along the way - work-related, soft skills and most importantly, more about myself and what to improve on. i've been lucky to have a wonderful work environment and know many great people along the way, though i think i may be dead when i move on to my next job with a shitty working environment. my current office is not strict with our dress code, there's no pressure to dress up or put on make-up, so some of us basically just slap on some foundation and blusher while some just come "nude" - think the number of ladies with full make-up (ie foundation, blusher, mascara, eyeliner etc) is about 1 or 2? office politics is minimal since we simply just work on our own projects. however, as good as it is, i think it's time for me to move on and i'll probably be looking for another job when my contract ends mid 2010. let's pray there'll be more job opportunities.

however, 2009 just feel so small as i've been putting too much focus on stuffs like tv, idols, dreaming and getting upset with things that will never ever happen. i will still continue to do these since they bring me joy, though less fanatic i suppose. i'm still going to indulge myself in concerts etc... talking about concerts, i'm gg to BSB's on 28th Feb! :) shall spend more time enriching myself. wanted to take a course on SPSS, but each mod will cost me about $600-800 on average, and what if they turn out to be irrelevant? waste of money... yes one thing that happened in 2009 is that i'm turning into a scrooge.

i'm glad that i don't have a wishlist full of branded bags, wallets etc and i hope i nv will be. i dun wanna be those materialistic ppl. i wanna save more so that i can travel more often.

i'm glad i've managed to remain in contact with friends that i care about. i don't have a big social circle, but it doesn't matter - "quality over quantity".

i just went for a haircut yesterday, and chopped it to shoulder-length to welcome the brand new year. haha, sounds dumb but anyway, i hope my family and i will have a wonderful, meaningful and healthier year ahead. =)

now i'm off to make my ondeh ondeh!

i hate pms.
i've been having these grueling headaches for the 3 days, and also having terrible moodswings and restlessness. but yet still having to work, having to deal with insensitive people who asked me pointblank "y are your hair so dry?", having to interact when i just feel like shutting/clamping up, and controlling my cravings for sweet food/junk food. (i just finished half a pack of chips today! damn)

met up with yufen and yiwen for popeye chicken at century square yesterday. the chicken biscuit was simply terrible, chicken not juicy and too salty. the only thing i like was the mash potato, and service from the girl who served us was bad - giving us only ONE serviette for a family set meal (common sense will tell u we'll definitely need more than that!) and when yufen asked for more, she gave us the black face. did she forget her name is displayed on the cash register and we can complain v easily?

then met up with celine, paulene and serena this morning for dim sum at imperial restaurant at tampines 1. go try it, the dim sum is pretty good in my opinion, order no. 36 千层糕. i like! wanted to bake muffins in the afternoon but napped the whole afternoon instead! yes, waking up at 9+ on a saturday = not enough sleep. =D nvm, i'll just bake tmr, i finally succeeded making banana choc muffins last week! wanna experiment with apple cinnamon and choc muffins tmr...

it's the long weekend next week. finally have 3 days to sleep in. will be going to sitex though to accompany yufen to get her laptop and help my bro buy his router. and the last 2 weeks of dec when i will be on unpaid leave. heck the unpaid, it's still leave. CHEERS! wanna watch this hk drama called 宫心计 during that break.

i think the leads. think the full series will be uploaded by then, so can chiong finish at a go.

man it's going to be 2010 very soon, and i'll have stepped into the working society for 2 years come May/June when my contract ends. plan to take a short break before looking for another job. think my bro should have ord by then, and we can finally go to japan/hong kong (i hope)! o and i can't wait for universal studio theme park to open! S$66 entrance fee sounds reasonable to me. =)

if only i can find a well-paying, enjoyable job! well who doesn't, right? but market research jobs = long hours, loads of work and usually underpaid. but what fields can i switch to, if i do switch?

the last i updated was almost a month ago...

no choice, i haven had much to update on - prob aside from my bday. i'm thankful to all my dearest friends and colleagues who celebrated with me, you know who you are (i'm wondering who's reading my blog nowadays, given that it's so rarely updated!) and i received wishes from people who i care for, and of cos a Happy Bday call from xiaozhu himself! so i'm satisfied, though the call is super short. lol

i actually don't like people singing bday song, just feel kinda awkward, though i do appreciate the effort! :) and i guess when one gets older, bday just become another usual day. but at least, bday is a day that no matter how busy your friends are, they will try to find time to celebrate. i love the gatherings and catching up. :)

but i realise, as i get older, i'm becoming more temperamental and petty.
it's probably because i have higher expectations now, or maybe i'm just getting more spoilt by my parents, or sometimes i just think too much - sth commented by many people alr, but how to tell your mind not to think?

i'm irritated at myself when i forget impt stuff, especially during work/when i actually left my present at Marquee last Sat, and also when my work is not up to std when i know i can do it better.
i don't mind waiting, but not like an extremely long period of time. like how i totally turned black-faced when i had to wait 1 hour for my food to arrive yesterday.
i also dun like people to criticize what i like in front of me, say whatever you like behind my back i don't care. i'm experiencing this quite often recently, which is annoying, especially if it happens early in the morning.
and the other time, when i was on the train on my way to work, there was this lady who kept pushing me with her bag cos i think my bag accidentally touched her a few times, to the extent that i almost fall. i actually frowned and stared at her and make the "ze" sound. and in case you're wondering, there was no one at her other side, so she most likely have done it on purpose. and gosh, it was something so childish...

i know i need to change my temper for the better... but haiz, abit hard to control

anyway, basically i've been working, tuitions, watching movies and all the other usual stuffs. ha, like i said, nothing interesting or exciting. but this mth, i'm going to F1 on 27th race day! cos Backstreet Boys will be performing! at first i thot i wun be able to go cause the tickets were sold out, and i certainly din expect myself to be THAT disappointed when i found that out, but luckily found someone who's letting go his tickets, so yeah, will be going! hope it's worth all the trouble

and in a few weeks' time, shows like CSI, CSI:NY, Brothers & Sisters etc will be back! woo~

17-19 July 2009 - Man Utd KL trip

thanks to H1N1, i'm given 3-days MC from 3-5 August for sorethroat, cough and runny nose as a precaution. The doctor said the chances of it being H1N1 is really high, so gotta wait and see. hope it's nothing much really, especially after spending the whole of Sat night with 6 other friends at clarke quay! so, now i've the time to blog on my KL trip.

Day 1

on the comfy coach, all ready to go. my mum was really excited!

as for us, we were still kinda in lalaland...

after 6 hours, we finally reached our hotel The Fereral.

went to a nearby place to eat b4 gg for the training match...

no matter how much i like eating cai peng in Singapore, i'm nv gonna eat it in KL.

now for the training match...

we were there pretty late, so couldnt get good seats - only managed to sit on the 2nd level.

dinner at Jalan Alor, which is just 5 mins walk from our hotel.

the food there are quite similar to SG's, pretty nice and cheap, though my colleague said, if you're paying SG prices for the food there, it means it's quite ex already!

went shopping around, and saw this indoor roller coaster at Times Square.

cool huh...
but other than this, shopping was pretty boring, prob cos it was Friday night. there was another highlight though, Krispy Kreme donuts! =)

Day 2
In order to get good seats for the match, we were queueing outside the stadium since 12+, even though the gates were opened only at 3pm, and the match started only at 5.30pm.

dinner at Jalan Alor again... this time at a restaurant/eatery thingy place. the food there was ex! RM2.50 for a bowl of plain rice?! but the bak ku teh was really nice though.

Day 3
as our coach would be leaving only at 3pm, we did some shopping.

went to Jalan Petaling, KL's chinatown. nothing really interesting, too many fakes.

interesting way of packing coffee-takeaways... the coffee was really thick and fragrant! i love it!

communication is a 2-way thing. BOTH parties LISTEN and talk. (though i know i'm guilty of talking too much in front of ppl like liu, celine, grace!)

it's just so frustrating talking to ppl who always talk about themselves. whatever things i say, their reply will always be "i think i... i... " and more "i...".
i'm hoping for at least a "y do you think so?" or sth with "you".

i have a bad day and i complain about it. instead of any word of consolation, they start saying "o i had a terrible day too... i kena this, i kena that...", TOTALLY IGNORING what i just told them. wth. but of cos, dun get me wrong. i'll be most willing to listen for hours if they ever need my listening ear.

i saw something i like that they totally disapprove, they roll their eyes/give me THAT look and walk away (So extremely rude), or cut me off, when i do listen to them talking about the things THEY like. (i'm not saying i always do that, but at least i make the efforts)

i start telling them sth, they cut me off and talk about stuff that interest them. (Alright i know, i'm boring...)

so pls understand when i choose not to tell ppl anything anymore.

i know this whole post is ultra narcissistic, but i'm not communicating with anyone here. i can rant whatever i want w/o getting interrupted.

i'm also still learning the balance between listening and talking. who say communication is easy?

I've been catching up on this show called Brothers & Sisters recently after watching the first season on Channel 5 years ago... watched season 2 and this scene totally cracks me up.

first 3 mins of the video - Justin confessing to his bro Kevin that he had feelings for their "sister", who they acknowledged/knew about only recently. who uses the word "imbreeding"?!

this is the scene whereby Kevin proposes to his gay partner Scotty, one of the sweetest proposal ever, especially since it's coming from the ever-so-cynical Kevin. o and Scotty is so cute. ha... o and do you know the actor Luke Macfarlane is supposedly dating Wentworth Miller in real life... well, not that you're interested to know i guess...
anyway, just a note, if you can't accept gay r/s or 2 guys kissing, then this is definitely nt a video for you.

personally i really like this show, the family is constantly having complicated issues to resolve, which is interesting and fun to watch. but with our media's zero tolerance towards homosexuality, it definitely wun be arriving at our shores anytime soon... thank goodness for the internet! watching season 3 now...

i've been so busy with work that i dun have time to post this really late post.

anyway, went for aaron kwok's concert last Saturday with my bro and yufen. it was great! though the fact that his back was facing us most of the time, and that i dun really know his songs kinda dampened my mood a lil. so suay la, of all places, i picked the East block, when all the cameras and reporters were seated in the West block, meaning he faced there most of the time. =.=

but still, he's a really great performer. i wld say 80% of the songs were fast songs. and it's so difficult to capture nice pics of him cos he's always moving/swaying/dancing. hah. but no complaints! =)

and my fav are the opening and the water-splashing segment!!

anyway, went to watch Drag Me to Hell with my tutee today after tuition. i'm quite surprised that the show got such high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. it's just not my kind of show with the computer-generated effects and weird scares, but it did scare the hell out of me in some parts!
i'm really looking forward to Ghost of Girlfriend's Past, Harry Porter and TRANSFORMERS!! WOH!

i'm feeling so sian right now, it's so hot and humid, i've got some work to complete over this weekend, and my bro has booked in alr cos he's on guard duty tomorrow on a Sunday so i'm bored. =(

here's the 3rd pic we took... as stated earlier, i dun like it, dun like the angle of my head and eyes in the pic. =( and when my mum saw it, she was like "you look fat" with her hands pointin to the cheeks. haha, but i'm generally fine with ppl telling me i'm fat cos i know i'm not slim or wadever. but she also commented she prefers the other 2 pics.

anyway, it was qt an eat-alot-and-drink-alot day yesterday!

had lunch at Eight Cafe & Bar (http://www.numbereight.com.sg/index.php) yesterday as they are having a 1-for-1 meal at $8.80, and i must say i really enjoyed the beef rice! their mushroom soup, which is included in the Chicken Salad set, is light yet tasty, and you can really taste the mushroom. (I've drank soups which totally did not have the mushroom taste = bad.) The ambience is also wonderful, (took a few pics but not with me) and we ended up having a 2-hour Friday lunch! haha

and in the afternoon, our department had a beer brewery tour, and at the end of the tour, we were treated to free flow of beer... the beer tasted nicer and fresher than those outside, but my conclusion is i still dun like beer.

and after that, went out with a few colleagues for dinner at a fabulous place called Fou de Fa Fa at Capitol Tower. Here's a short article on the place: http://www.soshiok.com/articles/11365 if you're interested.

i love the lady boss! she's super-friendly and recommended a few dishes to us. i had smoked salmon sandwich, the toast was nicely done with sunflower seeds on top, the salmon was fresh and yummy. I tried Paulene's Avocado wrap, which is ultra delicious, love the avocado and the CHEESE! u know i'm a cheese lover! and of cos, we ordered a jug of alcoholic drink to share. can't recall its name but it was really refreshing. in short, i'm not really a sandwich person but i like that place alot.

so after that we went to a house party, organised by one of my colleagues' friends, at one of the shops along Haji Lane. drank (again) vodka with soda, which was ultra strong. din feel really comfortable so we girls went off first. wanted to go to Blue Jazz but it was full house. so ended up at a Shisha place for a drink, and no, we din smoke that and also no alcohol this time round.

things din actually go the way we originally planned, but still it was an interesting day for me, cos these r things which i usually don't do! haha...

anyway, i simply adore this performance in American Idol Finale.

when will ppl ever understand that having tuition is not EVERYTHING, as if it'll DEFINITELY ensure wonderful results, that tutors are not superhuman who can ensure wonderful results with 2 hours per week?

when will ppl understand that the tutee's results can nv b improved by wanting the tutor to teach EACH AND EVERY questions of the hw given WITHOUT THE TUTEE EVEN TRYING ANY, WITHOUT MEMORISING THE FORMULAS, WITHOUT EVEN REMEMBERING WHAT WAS TAUGHT MINS BEFORE, much less during the previous lessons.

how can the tutor provide really quality explanations when there're so many AMATHS questions (like 10+, 20) to be done within 2 hours?

how will the tutor know the tutee don't understand when the tutee don't even ask anything?

and with the implementation of extra charge for every extra hour since tuition ALWAYS drags, the tutee will try to finish everything before the extra hour is up (like an extra 55 mins. hey it's not 1 hour yet, so TADAH NO CHARGES! HAPPY!!).

and oyah, did i mention tutors also have to provide tuition over the phone?

lame.

i totally regretted agreeing to continue when she requested after i told her i wanna stop. shd have let someone take these nonsense.

and now i know my sunday will be ruined.

and my tmr will be ruined too cos i'm now too pissed to slp.

looking forward to Revolutionary Road this weekend! and Xmen too! 17 Again was allright, a simple relaxing laughable movie for friday evenings~

anyway, Ch 5 showing Sixth Sense now... great show, i LOVE the twist at the end and Haley Joel Osment is just so convincing! definitely one of the best horror shows i've seen, in addition to Shutter.

just finish watching CSI 200th ep and i am ultra disappointing! y was the new guy (who just joined THIS season btw) given the main role in this milestone episode, while others such as Catherine, Nick, Greg, Brass who have been in the show right from the BEGINNING for the past 9 years given so limited screen time?! y was he allowed to investigate the death of his student, who he was pretty close with? y was he, a csi lvl 1, even allowed to do that much work - interviewing suspects, looking through the victim's house, reviewing surveillance tapes etc? just unbelievable. i know most of u most prob wun understand except mou ren! :) i've watch each and every of the 200 episodes shown, and i can safely say this is the worst episode ever.

i miss this team...

anyway, decided to drop by Tampines 1 today after tuition but it was SUPER DUPER crowded! i shopped in 1 store, walked around level 1, saw Uniqlo at level 2 and ppl were still queueing just to get into the store! wanted to go to level 2 but ppl were also queueing to use the escalator, so i gave up! felt hungry and went to B1 hoping to grab sth, but there were queues all over! so well, in the end i decided to go home and stuffed myself with Khong Guan Lemon Puffs. haha! rewarding shopping trip huh?

whenever i have some decisions to make, it'll somehow end up in a discussion and somehow it'll end up with me being at fault, the one who's not being fair. and when i explained that things are not that way, it's "no i've been thru that, that's not possible". how can you be so sure since you're NOT ME. i feel so accused! and wad's wrong with me preparing myself for the worst situation, when i dun feel fairly treated in the first place, when i can't be promised anything?

i think i'm too nice, and i really suck at standing up for myself. i really have to learn how to stand up for myself, and LEARN IT FAST.

for some reasons, i've been feeling really easily irritable recently... i know my post last week was somehow similar but i just wanna say this again. i've no idea y i'm feeling so angry, i've no idea what i'm pissed at, and i'm feeling really guilty as i've been venting my frustration on my family and my poor tutees. i even grumbled at my bro for facing the wall (he was lying on the bed, not looking the wall for no reason) when he was talking to me, such that i cldn't hear him properly. yes i was THAT unreasonable...

was talking to my parents regarding this just now and it was just so cute of them to suggest i watch more 娱乐百分百, which is sth i haven been doing for a really long time.

ok i must change... think happy thoughts and count 1, 2, 3, ...

anyway, went to watch Shinjuku Incident with my family yesterday night... was pretty allright, just like the typical mafia/yakuza kinda show, not really that bad but not that fabulous either. Not much the trademark fighting from Jackie Chan, but probably more heartfelt acting from him and Daniel Wu. i particularly liked the scene whereby both of them cried when Daniel Wu's character was seriously injured. it was really violent though (severed hand anyone?), hence the NC16 rating.

and guess what, i smelt smelly socks/shoes throughout the whole show, which was ultra irritating! it's a pity i've no idea who's airing his shoes in the cinema or else i would probably have gone up to him and stop him! it's ultra inconsiderate, and it seems i was the only one who smelt it (at least among my family members)! either i had a REALLY good sense of smell, or the guy was probably sitting directly behind/in front of me. oman... please!

I've still got work left to do tonight, which was supposed to be due last fri, further worsening my mood. i think i have to sleep really late tonight, and its gonna be a terrible Monday tmr.

my weekend just flew past rather sian-ly.

i haven had a really good peaceful sleep in a long time. i can't sleep soundly and there is always this nagging feeling at the back of my head. i've no idea y... probably due to work stress. i've never been so stressed up for the whole of my life!

luckily got to meet zhengkang for lunch and i kept complaining (again), and movie with yufen to unwind. i know i've said this lots of time already but it's always nice to meet up with friends. Had a good laugh watchin Confessions of a Shopaholic, and me giving yufen a shock by imitating Matt from American Idol. LOL! i need a shopping trip, a meet-up with mou ren, and a good laugh.

i want another holiday!

road safety

man this is gonna be another depressing week for me...

but at least this week we fought hard when trailing. that's the spirit! but... THREE red cards in just TWO games?! most of the time i try not to get too attached to anything so my mood wun get affected too easily but this time is just kinda... well depressing.

anyway, aside from being remember TWICE of last weekend's result on friday, it was a relatively allright week. i got to meet Liu and Yufen for lunch, Tingfeng and Derrick for dinner, bumped into Zhengkang, Aaron and Peiting. catching up with friends is always such a wonderful feeling.

anyway, there was a road accident near my house today. Saw the aftermath when i was on the bus. and it looked so serious that i thot someone was seriously injured. and being the typical singaporean, i went to KPO abit. the motorcyclist was lying on the road waiting for the ambulance and luckily seemingly not that seriously injured. and other drivers stuck in the jam (cause the vehicles were kinda in the middle of the road) were furiously jamming their honks, which was like SO irritating! HELLO?! there's someone injured here... can't they just wait alil and drive slowly to make their way through?

and the KPO me actually took a pic...

see? the car was seriously damaged. i heard the impact was so great that the motorcyclist was flung out of his bike, though it could have been worst since the vehicles were moving relatively slow in that area.

have been having quite afew of such experience recently, too many for my comfort..
just the other day, i was waiting for the Green Man with this lady when she suddenly started crossing the road. Thinking that it's Mr Green Man, i followed suit to realise no it's still red! with one of my foot already on the road and her being much in front of me, i stepped back when a fast-approaching car suddenly made an emergency brake and stopped to scold the lady. so of cos the car behind stopped, and before i knew it, there came a screeching sound and a cab crashed right onto the 2nd car. after the incident, i always make sure it is GREEN (with my own eyes) before i cross.

And just recently, my dad also had a minor road accident when a pedestrian suddenly rushed out of the road. the car in front had to do an E brake, so my dad's cab bumped onto his car. luckily it's nothing serious, though it set him back by $1.5k to pay the cab company.

and of cos, just on the news recently, a intoxicated (crazy) guy actually crossed the PIE! ultimate craziness! and what happened? a poor innocent guy died, with 5 other vehicles being involved in the accident.

these are all reasons y i dun drive despite having a license... other then not having a car, though i've considered getting a weekend car. but no thanks, i'll save up for something else. :)

anyway, went to the E award show thingy organised by SPH yesterday... a really huge portion of people were there for LUO ZHI XIANG, cause when he finally came on stage, it was kinda chaotic as people were rushing down from their seats to catch a better glimpse of him... and I'm truely blown away by his performance of Ge Zhong Qiang Shou! and the guy behind me kept going "WALIAO" at the really amazing dance moves. (like "how the heck did he do that?") LOL! took vid of his segment, wanted to upload onto youtube but my vid was about 15 mins long so it was rejected. prob when i have the time/mood, i'll rip the vid into 2 and upload them. :) and i must thank yufen for taking LOADS of his pics when i was videoing him.

i'm feeling monday blues already... how i hope to find a job that starts really late in the morning or even better in the afternoon, so i can sleep in till real late.

PS. i'm actually having tuition now but my tutee aka my cousin went to the toilet, so i borrow his comp to blog. LOL.

PSS. They showed us a promo vid of Aaron Kwok's concert during the award, wah so tempted to go la! but it's ULTRA expensive... and xiaozhu should be having concert tour again next year! cheers~

VDS' sigh of relief when Fulham ALMOST scored. LOL! wanted to watch the match but i was too tired, but i watched the highlights and Scholes was BRILLANT!

hm, have been having bloggin drought... and not really in the mood to blog. come to think of it, i've been having this blog for almost 4 years. really surprise it lasted this long... wonder how much longer will this go? i no longer have the "o i can blog bout this" thoughts, and my life's kinda boring to blog about.

allright, mayb i should talk about my work. time flies, i've been working for 8 months already. 4 more mths till the end of my contract, no idea what'll happen after that. will my contract be cut short since it'll end in the middle of a proj, or extend for another 1 year, or a perm position? but perm's unlikely since there's no opening rite now.

anyway, i think my mum's beginning to worry that i'll be left on the shelf, cos she has started hinting. ha, but i'm actually pretty satisfied with my current situation, though sometimes i do crave for some love. i know i'm being pessimistic, but it's just such a scary thought that 2 people who once love each other dearly can someday become strangers and i dun want that to happen to me. i dun like the idea of letting someone influence my mood greatly, eg. one small gesture may upset me for days and weeks on end. i cherish the "me" time that i have and i'm afraid to lose it. okay, after typing these, i think i understand y my mum's worrying. haa

on a side note, Channel 5's going to show Desperate Housewives Season 5 next week. Do catch it cos imo, it's the BEST season so far. Okay, season 1 was good, and i didn't follow season 2-4 closely so it's not a fair comparison, but season 5 is REALLY GOOD. watching Lost Season 5 too, but think it kinda loses its steam from Season 4... time travel? never a big fan of that.

CSI and CSI:NY are as usual my favs, though the torrents are really slow to be uploaded! really like Ghost Whisperer too, nv fails to touch me, but also dun really follow it closely since Fridays are usually movie nights. *i'm interested in catching Slumdog Millionaire and He's Just Not That Into You!* Think i'll catch it from Season 1 when i have the time. and there have been lots of raves about Gossip Girls, and i'm interested to watch it, but was nv a fan of OC so wonder if i'll like it.

hm, this has got to be one of the longest entry for quite a while... :) allright, gotta bathe now~

i'm pretty self-conscious and cautious, esp in front of ppl i'm not comfortable/familar with, and it's really difficult for me to make friends(not those hi-bye kind) since i dun open up easily. Esp at work, it's so hard to find someone who i can click easily with, esp given the limited amt of time we actually interact.

really glad i managed to find wonderful friends at all stages of my education life, and still maintain contact with them.

i'm done with my reunion dinner, ultra full but having withdrawal syndromes from Taiwan - the food, the shopping and xiaozhu~

went to Liu Fu Chun amusement park on the 2nd last day and wow it was freezing cold! only about 11, 12 degrees celsius, and with the rain and wind, my feet and hands were so numb... luckily it was already towards the end of our trip. really couldnt stand the cold.

bought so much that my luggage was over the 20kg limit by 5kg (yes my luggage was 25kg!), but managed to squeeze here and there, and save on 2kg of tax money. ha.

time to start earning money again.

haven blog for a long time, anyway, here's some pics for Andy Lau's concert.... it was great, esp his older songs. it was my parents' first concert and love it! can't complain about his voice which was as usual great, and he still looks really good and toned for his age! i felt it was a lil boring in the middle... but it got really high, and ended with a BANG!

a pity we went JB too late, cos it was alr late afternoon when we reached and we ladies din even get to shop for our stuffs! accompanied the guys to Holiday Plaza for their wii games and dvds. it was kinda funny seeing them parking themselves right in front of the porn dvds area, happily discussing away. do guys really love to discuss bout such stuffs? anw, i bought a spanish show - The Sea Inside! i guess not many have heard of this show. it's about euthanasia, the issue Singapore is discussing on recently. i've been wanting to watch it since Singapore screened it last time and now i've got my chance!! the dvd is not with me yet cos we paid the ppl to bring the discs into Singapore for us, safer mah. if anyone is interested to watch, just let me know!

anw, we caught a night movie, Max Payne, which cost only RM10 at City Square! ultra cheap!! but my first thot when we reached the theatre was "eh y is the image out of focus???" but well, we got thru the show, which was pretty boring and predictable, and the freezing cold, though one fall aslp.

we decided to stay for the night, despite the show ending at midnight. took a cab to Zon, a clubbing area, though we only sat outside and drank. got bored and a bit noisy for our liking, so we took a cab back to City Square, thinking that the ktv may still be opened. Yea it was still opened, but it closed in an hour's time at 4am, which was ultra not worth it. so well, having nowhere to go, we headed back to Singapore, Jurong Hill to be exact, for Mac breakfast before going home. by the time i reached home, my dad was heading out to work alr!

slept all the way till 2+pm, resulting in insomnia at night, so watched the final race of F1, and it was very exciting! especially at the last few turns when Hamilton overtook Glock to win the championship from Massa... Woah! was kinda rooting for Ferrari! i know i'll be watching it when the next season starts!

Caught a glimpse of Rafael who was immerse for today's game, with a great goal. great to see rooney celebrating passionately, but neville's totally silent beside him, probably disappointed with his own performance.

i'll be having unpaid leave on the last 2 weeks of Dec cos our London office will be closed for the festive season, and i'm ultra tempted to fly to Taipei again! but well, guess i'll save those 2 weeks for my wisdom tooth... all 4 of them. does anybody have any idea if it's cheaper to visit the poly clinic for referral letter or to visit private dentist directly?

it's quite appalling to see such comments being made.

I for one, do not have uni-grad parents. My dad only received pri 6 education and my mum none at all, but i made it to uni all right. in fact, most of my friends do not have parents who are uni-grads. what's wrong with that? it jus so happen that some were not born with a silver spoon to receive proper education or just did not bother to study. Besides, i'm sure there are uni-grad parents whose children do not follow their path. and so what if someone do not make it to uni? people still succeed graduating from poly or ite, and there're also uni-grad who fail.

all i can say is, i appreciate my parents for giving me all that they can and i love them for that, uni-grad or not.

i was nv a F1 fan, but all the hype of F1 got me hyped up, so i decided to go down city hall and checked it out... and i found a real good spot! just outside Marina Sq's Carl's Junior... at first there were black plastic cloth covering the fences but they all got pulled off, by ppl like me and the stewards! yes the stewards were really nice, they pulled liao then asked us to "sHhhh", or another one who said "u guys pull no problem, as long as it's not me who pull them down". so ya, before the race started, most of the sheets were down already. someone even brought a pair of scissors! v well-prepared.

I managed to stand in the first row, so was just right beside the tracks, other than the fences and all that and man it was ULTRA LOUD!!!! n i din bring earplugs

due to all e terrible traffic cos by the rd closure and the rain, my company let us off work 1 hour earlier at 5pm today so that we can avoid the crowd when going home! so shiok! haha... but i didn't go home. decided to go to national library and take a look at F1 practice at 7pm!

the view wasn't really good, cos it was pretty far and i could only see one bend... but at least i got to c it live! haa... n they're really loud, cos the engine was still audible from where I was, in an enclosed area

i wun say i'm not afraid, but at least i'm not that afraid of pain, not that afraid of heights, not that afraid of cats and dogs and other fluffy animals... but there's this one thing that nv fails to traumatize me - cockroaches, esp those that fly!!!!

just this week i've had 2 encounters with them alr, prob due to the rainy weather and the fact that my house's on lvl 1. for one of the encounters, i almost TOUCHED it! prob just afew mm away only... waliao... n u know, i'm now so traumatize that whenever i hear some funny sounds in the kitchen, i'll start checking around.

rmb a few years ago, when i was closing the toilet door, one actually dropped from the ceiling onto my arms! wld u believe i actually cried out of fright? LOL, that's how scared i am of them...

but just too bad, they'll alw be around... just dun let me c a headless one someday. (since they can survive w/o a head for 1 month...)

need get back to work now... there're so much to do, need to chiong cos the deadline was today. =(

UnUsUaL added another show on the 13th for Mr Andy Lau's concert due to the overwhelming response and i just bought another 2 tix for my bro and i.

it alw seems that when i'm deciding whether to go to a concert, their songs will start appearing around me. for both Cao Ge's and Andy Lau's concerts, when i was in the midst of deciding, my ipod will alw shuffle to their songs and i'll also keep hearing their songs on radio! ultra tempting.

and now, i'm broke.

Beijing Olympics 2008, and some meaningless rants

I've long wanted to blog on this but haven had the mood to really start typing... so now, while waiting for my hair to dry, here're a few things from the olympics that left really deep impressions on me.

1. Michael Phelps. 8 events, 8 golds, 7 WR & 1 OR, with an event winning by a mere 0.01s. enough said.

2. Usain Bolt. this guy is really interesting man! first time in my life i see someone slow down to celebrate BEFORE crossing the finishing line. some may say he's arrogant, to me he's entertaining to watch.

3. Team Singapore - Tao Li swimming in the finals, and our table tennis getting a silver medal! look out for feng tianwei during the next olympics! i think she'll b big~

4. Matthias Steiner, delicated his gold in weightlifting to his wife, who passed away last year in a car accident.

5. János Baranyai. again from weightlifting, he dislocated his elbow during the competition! when i saw a pic of it in the papers, it's jus omg OUCH. still have the image in my mind... ouch!

6. Natalie du Toit of South Africa. she competed in the women's swimming marathon 10 km despite being an amputee. really admire her.

ok! that should be all.

Yesterday was Teacher's Day, and i received a few cards and present from my tutees. really sweet of them. and of cos, thanks to those who wished me Happy Bday or gave me presents! really appreciate them! =D

anw, i bought Andy Lau concert tix for my parents! they're selling really fast but dunno what's wrong with sistic, cos yesterday the most expensive and cheapest tix were all sold out, with only 4 blocks remaining for the others. but just went to sistic website and suddenly the top 3 categories tix are back again... weird. n now i'm tempted to go after seeing the advertisement on tv!

CSI:NY and CSI are starting soon! but Sara has left, Warrick will get killed off, and Grissom will b leaving mid season... left only Catherine, Nick, Greg... though i can't bear for it to happen, they should end the show.

i'm seriously laggin in <篮球火> and i need to rent a gown asap!

my commissioner had looked thru my work n there's one whole big chunk of things that I need to follow up by Thurs. also gotta make more calls or else i'll definitely die for my data analysis n report writing. there's a spreadsheet tt i need to finish by this Friday. n there's a questionnaire to be finished by tmr lunch.

n can u believe it, i'll b having tuition this Sunday 4 hours for 2 sisters and another 4 hours straight for my sec 4 tutee. ha... gonna chiong with them for their exams!! i dun mind as long as they're willing to put in e effort but i think the sec 4 girl n me will be brain dead by e end of it.

5 more days n olympics will be ending... though only got to watch highlights, i'll miss it, esp gymnastics n swimming.

just finished watching the Community Shield, though i missed 30mins as I was bathing... LOL. waiting for my hair to dry now while i blog.

man utd won it thru penalties again. the finishing abit CMI in my opinion, but frankly, i think nobody really cares about the Community Shield. just look at how the Portsmouth players took their penalties and you're know what "i don't care" really means.

have been watching alot of sports over this weekend. was able to nua at home doing nothing except watching Olympics since all tuition were cancelled except for 1 today.
Gymnastics (my top priority!) , sync diving, swimming (Tao Li's in the finals tmr!)... even caught Money No Enough 2 with my family! it was okay, Jack Neo ran out of jokes alr, storyline's kinda predictable, but at least he worked on it and kept it real.

anw, i know alot of ppl have been asking me why i'm still having so many assignments now that i'm working. firstly, i can't possibly stop halfway thru the year, esp if one is sec 4 and another pri 6. n i guess i'll feel abit 不舍得 for 1 or 2 of them, cos afterall i've been teaching them for qt a while alr. sometimes tuition ends up being a chitchat session and i have to extend to make up for it! ha! n having got the chance to nua at home this weekend, it feels kinda uncomfortable to have nothing to do but i know, i'll need my rest, probably will keep just 1 or 2 of them. well, i'll c how things go.

btw, tmr's start of the school semester, and Celine's first day of work! wishin everyone all the best!

anw, i've been working for 5 weeks alr. still tryin my best to adapt to working life and tuition on weekends. rushing out work b4 deadlines, getting used to their database, talking to ppl from other companies who can be the meanest/nicest ppl on earth, and simply sleeping and waking up early.

working = no life, and after 8 hrs of facing the computer at work, i just dun feel like on-ing the comp at home since i'll surf the websites i frequent at work, except for Xiaozhu's forum cos chinese is not supported! guess the fun i have right now is lunch with friends, and movies~ lol

talking bout movies, went to watch Mummy yesterday... it was pretty bad. i dun like the plot cos it was kinda ridiculous though this can be forgiven since it's Mummy, but it's v predictable. chemistry is also lacking among the casts. i just checked Rotten Tomatoes, Mummy only got a 10% rating. LOL! Dark Knight got 94%! Heath Ledger was simply marvellous. it also seems Harry Potter and the Half-blood prince is showing soon. Oh, can't wait for that! =)

12/07/08 - Gary Cao Ge's Welcome to My World

his concert lasted around 2hrs 20mins.
it was great, his vocals r really WOH!!! however, if i wanna compare with Xiaozhu's, u know whose i prefer la! (in case u're wondering, it's Xiaozhu's.)

i feel that Xiaozhu's showmanship and interaction with the crowd is mush better, and alot HIGHer (mou ren and i really went crazy that nite!), whereas Cao Ge is stronger vocally and his stage's props are much better. but probably cos i was in front for Xiaozhu's watching only him and neglecting the stage, but right at e back for Gary's (i'm sitting at the last row of my block, which is at the balcony on the 2nd level, so it's really VERY back!) so i could see the whole of the stage better.

he started off with Superwoman... and then some fast tracks with abit of dancing. couldn't feel e "omph" factor initally, maybe cos i was bz taking pics and videos or he was still alil nervous i dunno.

when it was My Way, he sang both the male and female parts beautifully n received a HUGE rd of applause, to which he commented "now i'm not nervous anymore. u guys better watch out cos i'll do crazy stuffs when i'm relaxed". LOL, the concert really got better from there.

a surprise - Yang Zong Wei was there! haha... Cao Ge was filming the fans from the stage and he "spotted" him sitting in vip area. it really was him, cos whatever Cao Ge was filming was put on the screens for all to c.

sorry my blog went into coma for 1 mth...

anw, my bro got enlisted today. was able to go to Tekong n take a look cos i was scheduled to be out of office today (actually Tues to Thurs) to do my storecheck for my current proj. basically to go around pharmacies and other places to look for certain products since i'm researching on over-the-counter healthcare. ended up buying supplements for my parents!!

i cant stand e quietness of the rm now cos there's no one to talk to. well i'll get used to it... it still feels kinda weird that my bro's a NSman now.

so far work has been ok, haven really started since the whole of last week was training. working environment's ok, quiet kind cos everyone's basically bz with their own proj, which kinda suits me - less talk = less gossip. i'll just talk to my neighbour, who's also new too btw!

looking forward to this sat - Cao Ge's concert!!! gonna be his first performance after winning the Taiwan Jin Qu Jiang's Best Male Artiste, and i jus heard from the radio that it's his bday today... yest to be exact since it's past midnight alr. hope there'll be surprises! i love surprises!

my dad just bought a toothpaste and it is lime-mint flavoured! i guess it's appropriate for me to put the "!" since it is one of the highlighted features of the toothpaste but... it just feels kinda duh to me la! i dun see the need to taste lime while i'm brushing. though my bro likes it and actually feels tempted to eat it. =|

then there's one insecticide which kills germs as you spray? i was laughing like crazy when i saw the advertisement cos seriously, i've absolutely no idea we need to disinfect cockroaches when we kill them.

if u're a soccer fan, i'm almost 100% certain u've heard of the ronaldo saga going on nowadays.

frankly speaking, rite at the beginning, i thought this is just a gimmick by him to get a pay rise. apparently, i read he wanted $200k per week. (greedy him!)

but with the development of things, it seems he really wanna leave. what i feel is, regardless of how talented he is, if his heart is no longer with man utd, then we shd let him go.

fergie said he'll rather let him rot on the bench for 4 yrs then to sell him. haa, at least he won't pose a threat to us when playing in the champion's league but in this way, ronaldo will just hate man utd even more and be more determined to leave and he probably won't cost as much!

I won't deny he was one major reason why man utd won the doubles last season and i'll thank him for that but well, no player is greater than the club, though i'm still hoping he'll stay. if he does go, just hope man utd will just ask for more than the $100million transfer fee and help clear the debts!

Taiwan Trip, 11/05 - 16/05 (Part 1)

finally finish watching Lost 4! great season, though there's one part of the story which i dun like! season 5 season 5 season 5!!!

went for a 2nd rd of interview yesterday... he asked so many unexpected qns that i think i screwed up AGAIN~ just cant perform for interview! so sian.

anw, here're some of my taiwan grad trip pics.

Day 1

at Changi Airport...

all ready to fly!

took a bus from Taoyuan Airport to our hotel Rainbow Hotel, think the trip took around 1 hour plus? had to transfer bus halfway thru and the first thing we realised when we got out of the bus was... man it was cold!

here's how our rm and toilet looked like.

first place we went after check in was Xi Men Ding, since it was late and our hotel was right smack in the middle of it. wanted to go to Long Shan temple and Hua Xi Night Market, which were very nearby, but our receptionist discouraged us cos apparently, Hua Xi Night Market was their ex red light district area so was pretty dangerous for 3 girls to go. we heeded her advice... for THAT night.

Day 2

took a train out of Taipei to JhongLi and then cab to go to Leofoo Village Theme Park. first time taking the transport n there were 3 types of trains with similar names, so we were ultra confused and took quite a while to reach our destination.

the theme park was actually quite disappointing in my opinion, maybe bcos i had really high expectations of it.

the scariest ride that Liu and i took... the screaming condor! Celine didn't take it cos she's scared of heights.

original plan was to get to Fisherman's Wharf by sunset so as to enjoy the scenery but we spent too much time shopping at Dan Shui Old Streets that by the time we reached the wharf, it was almost dark. it's fine with us though, cos it looked much better with the lighting.

was ultra windy there, nothing special about it actually. just went there to take pics and say "I've been there!".

returned to our hotel to put our shopping bags and went to Long Shan Temple and Hua Xi Night Market... Yes, the place that our receptionist discouraged us from going, but we were just too curious la!

the notorious Hua Xi Night Market, no wonder there were not many people there.

as Celine was taking this particular pic, the guys beside this research centre (as seen in the pic above) saw it and knew we were tourists. When we walked passed their shop, they actually called out to us... for what business we had no idea cos we quickly rushed off and got out of there!

just outside this night market was another (safer) night market and we bought pig's blood cake. only Celine and I tried it out though.

went back to Xi Men Ding for dessert and dinner.

Day 4

set off early for breakfast at Ding Tai Feng.

ordered...

to me, they tasted mediocre.

though we looked quite alert in this pic, we were actually very tired! Liu and i had no appetite, and Celine had to finish most of the food! LOL

immediately after breakfast, we walked to Ice Monster to eat...

fruit ice! v yummy but think it was quite ex, around SG$7+.

after the yummy dessert, we split up and i went to Ba Da, thinking that there was Bai Fen Bai recording that day. was supposed to go with mou ren but she needed to fly back on Wed alr. luckily she nv went, cos ended up ultra disappointed la. their "Live On Tape" turned out to be prerecorded live, so no recording that day... then y call it live?!! found out later from Stage's staffs that Xiaozhu was overseas.

In the meantime, Liu and Celine went to CKS Memorial Hall.

but too bad they cldn't go in to see the exhibits cos they weren't properly dressed.

so we met up and walked and walked and we actually chanced upon Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall!

my bro commented i look like those remote control toys with that "antenna". LOL

Nearby it is Taipei 101, but we cldn't find an angle which would allow us to take the whole building. After these, we went to Wu Fen Pu. If u're going there next time, try not to buy from there... so EX! and it's supposed to be cheap! and Celine got cheated over a pair of shoes.

after shopping in Wu Fen Pu, we went to Rao He Night Market and on our way there, we got to experience something new - waiting for railway to pass.

think the locals must have thought we were crazy cos we were fascinated and kept taking pics!

Day 5

2nd last day of our trip... we needed to do some serious shopping/gifts buying for our family!

again going out of Taipei. took a train to RuiFang and then bus up to Jiu Fen, which used to be a gold mine.

a really lovely place n with the wonderful cooling weather, we really enjoyed ourselves there. gotta be one of my fav places.

the creator with his creations of his own expressions. apparently, he was featured a few times on sg tv programs. a v warm and friendly guy.

spent half the day there and by the time we reached our hotel to put our shopping bags, it was already almost dinner time! but before that, there was one place i needed to go.

she's the one between Liu and Celine. is it obvious we took this on purpose? haa!

took mrt to taipei main station to do some shopping at the underground malls. the stuffs here were way much cheaper than Wu Fen Pu, though their clothes may not be as nice but shoes and bags were good. we ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes each within the 2 hours we were there, costing either NT$190 or NT$390 (lesser than SG$10 or $20). a pity we left too little time for them. should have been able to buy more!

Day 6

last day already! so fast! still had some last min shopping to do cos Liu and Celine still had lots of money left. as for me, I had just enuff left for the bus fees to the airport! even had to borrow from Liu for my lunch!

at their mrt station. Celine was holding their ezlink card, oman i've forgotten what's it called, and i was holding their single trip chip cos i had run out of card value. basically i had become "bankrupt".

our wonderful hotel. it was a great stay!

i'm back!!!

taiwan is a great place, i especially love e ppl there! super friendly n helpful... so rare in sg that i find myself questioning their motive, that is if they have any. it kinda bothers me that i have such thots, but i guess that's what happens when i'm brought up in sg - to be cautious of ppl.

e weather was great too! it's spring n it's so cooling - average was 21-22 degree celsius. to think tt we did nt sweat one bit with e amt of walking we did.

first nite there n we were stunned by e temp! 19 degree celsius only! SHIOK!!!!

e transport is gd too! we took their mrt n railway v often as we travel out of taipei a couple of times, n nt one time did we have to wait more than 2 mins. ppl ALWAYS keep to e right of e escalator to keep the left clear for ppl to walk, queue to get into the train, keep the priority seats empty for those who need them more.

all clear to go!

n of cos the greatest of all is the food!!!! yummy!!!! except for one - pig's blood cake. tasted VERY BAD. photos to be uploaded when i get them from liu n celine!
luckily din really get tt fat, cos we walked like 14 hours per day. out early in e morning at 8plus n back to hotel only at 11plus at nite. eat alot n walk alot. GD!

i also went to 八大, hoping to see a recording but end up there's no recording! =( found out later from his Stage's staffs that he is overseas, in Thailand to be exact cos xiaozhu blogged about it. better luck next time.

was shocked to hear of e Sichuan Earthquake. apparently, it happened on 12 May, which was our 2nd day there. we were at Leofoo Village theme park tt day n luckily we felt nothing, else we wld surely have freaked out. knew nothing about it till nite of 13 May, when celine's bf told her, n learnt e full extent of it only on the 14th, when we saw e news on tv. n it seems tt e riverbanks have collapsed n it's flooding now. bless them.

another shock was tt my neighbour jus passed away. though i nv like him, it was still pretty shocking... he's only 31 yrs old!

well, life's unpredictable.

anw, i missed e last match of e season but i got a msg frm Manish to say... we're champions again!!!! YEA! cant wait for e CL finals. shd watch at crabshacks?
still nt used to e fact that e season has ended, abit like no closure for me cos i miss e last match. this afternoon i was even asking my bro what matches are on tonite.

i finally got a new hairdo~! actually permed it cos it's 49% off! recommended by my hairstylist. lol~ i cant wash it till tml n it's got lots of stylin products on, it's so uncomfortable.

n my bro finally passed his driving... one day shd ask him to drive my dad's cab n try parking n c how gd he is, cos he alw says i passed my test thru luck. =.= which may b true, cos i got e Eunos route, which is like e route of death. it's e longest n busiest n we're required to cut through 3 lanes n do a u-turn. once i cldnt cut thru e lanes in time n missed e u-turn. if tt happened durin tp, tadah! IMMEDIATE FAILURE. but luckily, e tester decided to give it a miss cos it was durin e peak hours n guess he wanted to avoid being stuck in a jam. so i ended up jus drivin around e centre, which was thank goodness cos i alr had 10 points demerit as i stroked e kerb in e circuit n another 2 for turnin on e spot i think. another 6 more pts wld haf cost me my license.

anw, talkin bout drivin, here's e world's hardest drivin test... in South Africa!

i haf a few forums which i visit n ppl jus get into quarrels so often, it's sometimes really irritatin.

it's normal for ppl to haf different opinions, but i cant stand it when ppl start insultin each others n callin them names, thinkin tt e others r wrong to think this way. to me, it jus seems rude, disrespectful and arrogant, probably thinkin their opinions r more superior than others which is way nt true.

so does it mean, lookin in another way, they are also stupid(or wadever names they like to use) frm the others' pt of view since they think differently frm the others?

after MIA-ing for a while, i'm back.

my current obsession:

Rubik's Cube! saw alot of ppl playin wif it recently and decided to dig out my cube which i had since forever.
but i'm stuck fixin e last layer. =|

today marks e end of attendin lects in nus.
kinda havin a mixed feelin now - i'm totally ready to end my student life but nt ready to b a full-time workin adult yet. 3 weeks frm now, wif e end of exams, it would really b byebye to my student life. i know i wun miss nus, but i'll definitely miss studyin.
n coincidentally, my bro received his enlistment letter today.

my dad commented b4, tt he may tear durin my grad ceremony.
I jus laughed off his comments, though knowin deep down inside this means alot to him cos someone like my dad dun say this kinda thing. sometimes i do feel kinda guilty cos though he nv mentions, i know he hopes for me to do honours, yet i've nt work hard enuff to fulfill his small wish.

my parents arent well-educated - my dad din finish his pri sch education n my mum din even haf e chance to go to sch, so they alw haf to work doubly hard to make up for it. when my bro n i were young, my mum was a work-frm-home seamstress, so tt she can work n care for us at e same time. as for my dad, he had to take up 2 jobs - as a deliveryman in e mornin and then worked in a restaurant at nite.

rmb there was a period of time my relationship wif my dad wasnt tt gd n i was alw threatenin i'll leave home as soon as i can support myself. i totally regret sayin those things. but i'm glad we've work things out n now it's time i work hard n support them.

anw, introducin to u e fish noodles frm a stall (which i think is called Chun Hup or sth lidat) in e hawker opp TJC...

yummy! ultra fresh fish, noodles in soup wif a tinge of fish sweetness... in my opinion, one of e best i've tasted... one thing i dun like is tt e couple sellin haf an attitude problem... dunno bout e lady cos nv c her b4 but e uncle used to b so friendly! well, prob a bad day for them. but my bro says e one at ps tastes better... shall try it out next time.
