anw, here're some of my taiwan grad trip pics.
Day 1at Changi Airport...

all ready to fly!
took a bus from Taoyuan Airport to our hotel Rainbow Hotel, think the trip took around 1 hour plus? had to transfer bus halfway thru and the first thing we realised when we got out of the bus was... man it was cold!
here's how our rm and toilet looked like.

first place we went after check in was Xi Men Ding, since it was late and our hotel was right smack in the middle of it. wanted to go to Long Shan temple and Hua Xi Night Market, which were very nearby, but our receptionist discouraged us cos apparently, Hua Xi Night Market was their ex red light district area so was pretty dangerous for 3 girls to go. we heeded her advice... for THAT night.
n the first thing we ate...

Ah Zong Mian Xian!

the way to eat it - standing.

grilled mua chee... gotta say it's one of my fav food eaten during the whole trip! even ate it again on the last day!

Celine's expression totally showed how yummy the bubble tea was!

look at the llloooonnnnggggg queue behind. long queue = gd food!

iced yam dessert with pearls
walked around and saw these...

hee~ =) my fav!
Day 2took a train out of Taipei to JhongLi and then cab to go to Leofoo Village Theme Park. first time taking the transport n there were 3 types of trains with similar names, so we were ultra confused and took quite a while to reach our destination.

at JhongLi Station
the theme park was actually quite disappointing in my opinion, maybe bcos i had really high expectations of it.
the scariest ride that Liu and i took...
the screaming condor! Celine didn't take it cos she's scared of heights.

it's e ride in e background. super fast and high!
to get a feel of the ride, click
here n
here.
view from outside. SCARY but fun but we suffered motion sickness after taking it.

scenery...

2 crazy girls
abit regretful that i nv took e free fall ride, but well, cldnt tahan alr, esp after Screaming Condor.
made our way back to Taipei and went to Shilin Night Market.. pretty tired after 1 whole day of playing and travelling so we practically dragged our foot around but first, it's food time!

da bing bao xiao bing... not nice. imagine eating cornflakes wrapped in popiah skin. one word - dry

HUGE fried chicken! this was delicious!

at Da Tou Long, where xiaozhu learnt to make oyster omelette for his show

oyster omelette

food paradise~
Day 3took mrt to Beitou for hot spring n saw this.

nice
rented a rm for 2 hrs.

where we had our hot spring... v relaxing!

e hotspring hotel. walked around for quite awhile b4 settling on this bcos there were SO many!
took the mrt further up north to go to Dan Shui Old Streets...

e streets

scenery

huge fishballs!

man tou, after being poked by Celine. LOL

fried dumpling

tourists' fav - Ah Gei

another tourists' fav - Ah Po Tie Dan

super tall and cheap ice cream! each costing less than SG$0.50!

tall icecream. we understood why it was so cheap, it was pretty diluted.
n we climbed a long flight of steps...

Never ending!
to get to...

Red Cafe...

... to enjoy the scenery from top.

nice deco in e cafe

n we were ultra amazed by the restroom.

v unique and refreshing fruit tea
original plan was to get to Fisherman's Wharf by sunset so as to enjoy the scenery but we spent too much time shopping at Dan Shui Old Streets that by the time we reached the wharf, it was almost dark. it's fine with us though, cos it looked much better with the lighting.

the famous Fisherman's Wharf
was ultra windy there, nothing special about it actually. just went there to take pics and say "I've been there!".
returned to our hotel to put our shopping bags and went to Long Shan Temple and Hua Xi Night Market... Yes, the place that our receptionist discouraged us from going, but we were just too curious la!

the notorious Hua Xi Night Market, no wonder there were not many people there.
the things sold there were mainly sex toys and exotic animals.

poisonous snake research centre
as Celine was taking this particular pic, the guys beside this research centre (as seen in the pic above) saw it and knew we were tourists. When we walked passed their shop, they actually called out to us... for what business we had no idea cos we quickly rushed off and got out of there!
just outside this night market was another (safer) night market and we bought pig's blood cake. only Celine and I tried it out though.

one word - NASTY!
went back to Xi Men Ding for dessert and dinner.

corn ice!

dinner at kfc, e only place opened at that time which was 10+, other than Mac.
DROPS OF RAINBOWY
